What is an Australian School-based Apprenticeship?
Australian School-based Apprenticeships give students a head start in their careers by enabling students to gain a national vocational and technical qualification while completing their school studies. Australian School-based Apprenticeship are a great career option for students in Year 11 and Year 12 giving them practical 'hands on' learning experience, while earning a wage for time spent in productive work.
Australian School-based Apprenticeships allow students in Year 11 and 12 to:
- Undertake an apprenticeship while still at school.
- Participate in a combination of school, paid work and on / off site training.
- Progress towards gaining a nationally recognised qualification.
- Work towards completing their Year 12 Certificate.
- And, keep open the option of further education and training.
