About Russo
  1. Where is Russo?
    Russo is located right in the heart of the beautiful city of Brisbane, the capital city of Queensland, AUSTRALIA. The Russo campus is within walking distance of entertainment and recreation facilities, shopping, restaurants in the city centre and much more!

  2. Is Russo a University or a TAFE?
    No! The Sarina Russo Schools | Australia is a private education provider, the largest in South East Queensland. Russo offers students the chance to complete English programs and Certificate or Diploma level courses as a "pathway" to university. Established in 1979 by Ms Sarina Russo, President, the Sarina Russo Schools | Australia enjoys a very high profile in Brisbane and Queensland.

  3. Does Russo have campuses in other cities?
    Russo has three campuses in Brisbane city only. There are currently no Russo campuses in Sydney or other cities.

  4. What are the entry requirements?
    There are no entry requirements if you want to study General English, however if you want to study exam preparation or English for Business Purposes you will need to be at least Level 4. See English levels for more information.

If you plan to study a Certificate or a Diploma at Russo, you will need IELTS of 5.5 or higher (with no score below 5.0), or TOEFL 525 or higher, or English for Business Purposes at Russo (80% over 5 weeks).

Courses
  1. What courses are offered at Russo?
    Russo offers courses in the following Schools: English, Hotel Management, Business Services, Information Technology, and Travel & Tourism.

  2. What types of English can I study?
    Russo offers many options for you to improve your English language skills, including General English (elementary to advanced), English for Business Purposes, English for Tourism & Hospitality, English for Information Technology, and examination preparation classes (Cambridge FCE, IELTS, TOEFL, TOEIC).   3. Can I study part-time?
    You are able to study English part time only if you are on a Working Holiday, Tourist, or Temporary Resident visa. If you have a student visa you must study full-time to meet the conditions of your student visa.

  4. Can I take a holiday during my course?
    Depending on your visa and length of your course, you may be able to take holidays during your English studies. See Holidays for further information on the Russo holiday policy.

  5. Can Russo help me to go to University?
    Yes! Russo is your Pathway to University! A Diploma at the Sarina Russo Schools | Australia is the equivalent of first year university, so if you successfully complete a Diploma you will be eligible to apply for up to one year of credit at most major Australian universities. Staff members are available to assist you with your questions about university and application.

  6. How do I apply to study at Russo?
    Once you have decided on the course you want to study at Russo, the first thing you will need to do is to complete the application form, and send, fax or email it to the International Centre along with any relevant documents. Application & Visas
  1. Do I need a Student Visa?
    If you plan to study for more than 12 weeks you are required to have a student visa. See (DIMA website) for more information about visas.

  2. How do I apply for a Student Visa?
    To apply for a student visa you will need to finalise your application with Russo and pay any relevant fees, and we will then issue you with an Electronic Confirmation of Enrolment (eCOE). You will then need to take your eCOE to the Department of Immigration who will assess your application and issue your student visa. There are also certain requirements that you must meet in order for your visa to be approved, including financial ability, and medical history.   3. Can I apply for a student visa in Australia?
    You are able to apply for a student visa if you are in Australia on a valid visa (eg working holiday or tourist) and are from an AL1 or AL2 country. If you are from an AL3 or AL4 country, you will not be able to apply for your first student visa in Australia. To find out what Assessment Level (AL) your country is, see (DIMA website).
