Training Costs


Your training provider will advise you of the costs of the training. Your employer is not obliged to pay for your training. However, a large number of employers cover the costs of training as an investment in the workforce of their business and industry.
 


Tuition and Student Services Fees

Regardless of the training provider chosen, if you are undertaking a certificate III qualification or higher you may have to pay tuition and student services fees to your training provider. Tuition and student services fees are your contibution to the cost of the training. Some exemptions do apply so you are not financially disadvantaged. Your employer may choose to pay the tuition and student services fees for you.


Other Costs

During your apprenticeship / traineeship you may also have to cover the cost of:

  • Uniforms and equipment
  • Text books and other study materials
  • Parking or transport costs
  • Travel and accommodation to attend training

You and your employer may be elibible for a variety of financial incentives to help meet the costs of employing and training you.
