Job Interview Questions

"Have you any questions?"  Of all the questions an interviewer is likely to ask, this one is handled most poorly by job seekers.  There is really no excuse to answer ‘no’.

It is the best opportunity you will get to benefit from the results of your pre-interview preparation and sum up why you consider that you are suitable to the position.

Questions You could ask an Interviewer

Don't ask them all - Select at least four that are relevant to the position before each interview appointment:

  • What are my future career prospects once I have demonstrated success in this position?
  • What are the chances of promotion?
  • What are the most important results you would like to see me produce?
  • What do you expect of the person who holds this job?
  • What does the job involve?
  • What further study could I do?
  • Where and who will I be working with?
  • What training will be given?
  • Could you tell me more about the company?
  • What are the dress requirements?
  • How soon can I start?
  • When will you be making a decision?
  • How will I find out?  Can I call you?
  • What sort of people do well in your organisation?
  • How will my performance be measured and by what measure?
  • What specific objectives need to be met and what problems solved in the next six months?
  • What assistance could I expect, to develop my ability to handle the job as quickly as practicable?
  • Could you sketch the way in which the work is organised here to show me where this particular job fits in?
