Mission Statement
Sarina Russo Open Employment Services makes job seekers’ future aspirations and return to work happen, with dedicated and personal support from friendly, professional and experienced staff.
Telephone Typewriters (TTY)
The telephone typewriter (TTY) allows people who are Deaf or hearing impaired to communicate by telephone. Messages are sent using telephone lines. The Deaf/hearing impaired person types their message on the TTY keyboard.
When different keys are pressed different tone signals are sent over the telephone line. These tones can be "decoded" by a TTY at the other end of the telephone line and displayed as a written message. TTY users can call people who do not have a TTY by using the National Relay Service provided by the Australian Communication Exchange (ACE). This allows the Deaf person to send or receive messages from ordinary 'voice' telephones.
Message from Sarina
Sarina Russo Open Employment Services is very successful in assisting people with disabilities to develop the right skills, attitudes and experiences to 'Get That Job'.
Our experienced National Disability Coordinator, National Senior Psychologist and team of occupational therapists and other specialists put a lot of time and effort in to securing successful return to work outcomes for people with disabilities.
One of the biggest challenges is educating employers to look at people's abilities rather than their disabilities. In these times of skill shortages, Sarina Russo Open Employment Services advocates that it makes good business sense to give people with disabilities an opportunity to prove their abilities in the workforce.
