Occupational rehabilitation and return to work services

Pain, illness and mobility issues can create very real barriers to employment. Whether you’ve sustained an injury or are living with a chronic illness, our VOICE team of accredited exercise physiologists and occupational therapists are committed to helping you feel better and move better!

After an initial assessment of your specific health issues and potential health risks, we will develop an appropriate treatment plan that combines physical health intelligence with vocational counselling, to help you build a safe and sustainable pathway to employment.

Our VOICE team can provide occupational rehabilitation support for:

  • Weight loss
  • Heart and lung conditions
  • Type 1 & 2 diabetes, mellitus and other issues related to the metabolic system
  • Nerve and/or neurological complaints
  • Musculoskeletal conditions such as back pain
  • Osteoarthritis
  • Osteoporosis
  • Balance and proprioception

In addition to helping you find ways to better manage your underlying injury, illness or health conditions, we also provide support and counselling to reduce sedentary behaviours and promote positive lifestyle change, including:

  • Physical rehabilitation
  • Exercise counselling
  • Behavioural coaching
  • Health education
  • Pain management
  • Aerobic exercise
  • Resistance training/exercise
  • Mental health support

Supporting your rehabilitation and return to work goals

Our goal is to provide you with the tools and support you need to find meaningful work. We can liaise with employers on your behalf to discuss job-fit considerations and create an individualised Return to Work Plan. This ensures you have an actionable strategy in place to support your success in the workplace.

Once you have found a job, our support continues. We can help fund any specialist equipment or safety gear you may need to carry out duties in your field of work.

How can I access your mental health support services?

Anyone who is eligible for unemployment benefits and registered with Sarina Russo Job Access (SRJA) can make use of our allied health services. If you’re linked to another employment or community service and want assistance, by all means reach out, as there may be a way your service provider can help you access VOICE support.

If you are struggling with any mental health issue, please reach out to our team to arrange a consultation with one of our VOICE consultants.

How much will it cost me?

There is generally no cost for Workforce Australia candidates registered with us to access our suite of mental health support services. We operate from a flexible pool of funds which allows us to provide discretionary-based support based on need and demand.

If you need more intensive, or specialist help, beyond what we can provide, we can refer you to an external specialist.

Some of our services are location-specific, so please contact us to see what help may be available where you are.
