One standout story is that of Radelaide Tours, a South Australian walking tour company founded by a driven entrepreneur who joined our Self-Employment Assistance program in early 2024.
Radelaide Tours officially launched in December 2023 and welcomed its first guests in April 2024. In just 15 months, the business has achieved remarkable milestones: hosting 1,099 guests, winning Best New Business at the 2024 South Australia Tourism Awards, and being named Best Walking Tourism Operator at the 2025 Prestige Awards. Even more impressively, Radelaide Tours now holds the number 1, 3, and 5 spots for walking tours on TripAdvisor, backed by over 250 five-star reviews.
The founder, Dale (Dax) Cottam, began his journey with Sarina Russo Entrepreneurs in March 2024 by enrolling in our Entrepreneurship and Small Business training. With a clear vision and a passion for showcasing Adelaide, Dax embraced the program’s resources and, by June, began working closely with a mentor to refine his business strategy. Through personalised guidance and expert support, he gained the confidence to grow Radelaide Tours into a thriving operation. A special thanks goes to Marielba Bortone, our dedicated business coach based in Mount Barker, whose mentorship was instrumental in helping Dax navigate early challenges, sharpen his business model, and unlock new opportunities for success.

Sarina Russo offers accredited small business training that can help turn your business idea into reality. In conjunction with the Self-Employment Assistance program, Sarina Russo Entrepreneurs enables Australians to set up and run their own small business. The Self-Employment Assistance is 100% Australian Government funded.
Sarina Russo Entrepreneurs supports candidates as they complete Certificate IV in Entrepreneurship and New Business. During this, candidates create a comprehensive business plan and a two-year financial cash forecast. SRE Trainers provide meaningful mentoring for the first twelve months.
Eligible candidates receive the training and support to create a viable business plan, in addition to obtaining a Certificate IV in Entrepreneurship and New Business.
