International Day of People with Disability, 3 December
IDPwD is a United Nations (UN) day observed internationally. It aims to promote community awareness, understanding and acceptance of people with disability.
With 4.4 million Australians living with disabilities, IDPwD is a crucial opportunity to contribute to the creation of a more inclusive and diverse community. The Australian Government, through the Department of Social Services, funds a national program to promote and raise awareness of this day. The overarching goal is to encourage collective action toward breaking down barriers and fostering an environment where everyone, regardless of ability, can fully participate in society. [idpwd.com]
