On 16 September 2026, the Sarina Russo Group was proud to support a special networking event held at the James Cook University (JCU) Brisbane campus, bringing together 62 engineering students from PROMEO Formation in Beauvais, France, with industry professionals from across Australia.
The evening was designed to help students expand their professional networks, gain valuable industry insights, and explore potential career pathways and opportunities in Australia. It also provided a valuable opportunity for the students to strengthen their English communication skills while engaging directly with professionals working across a range of sectors.
Representatives from the Sarina Russo Group, JCU Brisbane, Australian Internships, Arrow Energy, Phibion, UniLodge, and the French-Australian Chamber of Commerce & Industry (FACCI) attended the event, sharing their experiences and offering guidance on life and work in Australia.
The networking event reflected a long-standing commitment to creating meaningful connections between education and industry, helping international students gain exposure to real-world perspectives while building confidence for their future careers. The event aligns with the PROMEO program's focus on providing students with authentic industry engagement opportunities during their time in Australia.
Guests heard from several speakers throughout the evening, including Sarina Russo Group CEO Kathleen Newcombe, RTO Director Jane Roberts, CEO of Education Michael Pennisi, and representatives from the FACCI, who shared valuable insights into professional development, industry expectations, and the importance of global collaboration.
To conclude the evening, the French students came together to perform La Marseillaise, the French national anthem, creating a memorable and fitting end to a celebration of international partnership, cultural exchange, and future opportunity.
