‘Mini’ Jobs Expo to celebrate Youth Week

Big thanks to all who participated in our Youth Event at Toowoomba. On 13 April, Sarina Russo Job Access hosted a mini’ jobs expo to celebrate Youth Week.

Violet Geesu, SRJA Indigenous Services Manager, with the SRJA Toowoomba team organised and designed the event to bring together employers and participant to discuss opportunities. This event is an excellent opportunity for young people to learn about different career paths, gain valuable networking skills, and connect with potential employers who are actively hiring.

One of the primary benefits of attending a networking event is the chance to meet and speak with a wide range of employers from different industries. Many of these employers are actively seeking to hire young talent, and they are often looking for candidates who are enthusiastic, hardworking, and eager to learn. This makes the a networking event a great place to start your job search, as you can get a sense of which companies are hiring and what they are looking for in a candidate.

Another benefit would be the chance to learn valuable insights from employers and learn about the latest trends in the industry. Perhaps one of the most valuable aspects of events like this is the chance to network with other job seekers and professionals. By attending an expo, you can meet like-minded individuals who are also looking to launch their careers, as well as experienced professionals who can offer advice and guidance. You never know who you might meet at an expo, and making connections can be instrumental in securing your first job.

In addition to the benefits mentioned above, attending networking events can also be a lot of fun. You can enjoy the excitement of a live event, meet new people, and potentially land your dream job all in one day. A huge thanks to Bunnings and other employers for organising a BBQ which made the event an enjoyable and rewarding experience for the participants.

The event resulted to referrals, which will potentially lead to job interviews. It was an excellent opportunity for young people to jumpstart their careers.
