National Reconciliation Week (NRW) is an annual event in Australia, held from 27 May to 3 June, dedicated to fostering understanding and respect between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and non-Indigenous Australians. This week commemorates two significant milestones in the reconciliation journey: the successful 1967 referendum and the High Court Mabo decision.
For 2025, the theme of NRW is “Bridging Now to Next”. This theme highlights the connection between the past, present and future, encouraging all Australians to come together with a shared sense of purpose. It emphasises the importance of learning from our history as we shape our future.
